Jennifer Boyce, LCSWA
Psychotherapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. In addition to contracting with Thrive Counseling, I spend my mornings working in a treatment facility assisting clients with substance use issues. My academic background includes a Master of Social Work from Winthrop University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island. Advocacy and social justice have played a leading role in my professional career, believing firmly that supporting and uplifting women and all vulnerable populations is important and rewarding work.
I approach clinical practice believing that therapy is a trusted partnership that is not prickly or uncomfortable, in fact, you should expect to feel supported and even lighthearted – so please bring along your sense of humor! Using evidenced-based practice models, we will examine your goals and past experiences to uncover your individual strengths and build a greater sense of calm, balance, and personal accomplishment.
Whether you would like to gain insight into a relationship, make greater headway in school or at work, or seek support as you navigate a life transition like divorce or the loss of a loved one, I am enthusiastic to be a part of your therapy journey.
I am a single parent of three young men and a “spirited” Yorkie/Bichon named Muffin. I enjoy skiing, playing golf badly, going on adventures, and DIY home projects. I am happy working with all individuals and have a “sweet spot” for adults facing divorce, young adults/adolescents on the spectrum, and people living with substance use issues.
